How to clean a DVD or Blu Ray disc
66Also Clean Playstation 3 or XBOX 360 discs

Someone once told me there was a trick to everything and I believe that you can extend the life of your DVD or Blu ray movies by cleaning the discs correctly, this also works with gaming discs like XBOX 360 and Playstation 3.
Since DVDs - Blu Rays and gaming discs are so expensive these days you want to take extra special care when handling them so you do not scratch or damage them, the correct way to remove a disc is to push the center button and release the disc into your fingers, you should always hold the disc with you fingers around the outside edge and your thumb in the hole in the middle of the disc. Please see the video below.
When cleaning a disc, you can use either toilet paper or paper towels.
Spray plenty of eyeglass cleaner on the disc, then start from the center and go straight out, repeat that motion until you have gone completly around the disc.
DO NOT GO IN A CIRCULAR MOTION
If you go in a circular motion you will scratch the disc and possibly ruin it,trust me don't make that mistake.
Always start form the center and go straigh out in a single motion, repeat until it is clean.
This will extend the life of your disc
If you are careful when you handle your discs and follow my correct way of cleaning the discs it will extend the life of the disc.
Do not over clean a disc
Only clean the disc if it has spots on it and it is skipping or if it has something on the surface.
You can over clean a disc.
Also if you get something on it like peanut butter or a lollipop - make sure to let that dry before you clean it off.
Remove the substance so it dosen't scratch your disc when you do clean it.
As an example pick off the lollipop when it is clean and leave oit out to dry for awhile before you clean it,then clean it just like in the video,it will work and it won't damage your disc.
I have cleaned just about everything you can imagine off of a DVD disc, it is truly amazing what can get on a DVD disc but if you follow these instructions I promise it will work and extend the life of your DVD and not damage it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope it helps and as always GOD-BLESS-US-ALL.

Good tips - I had a problem with a DVD a few weeks ago and had no clue as to what to do to clean it!
Just what I was looking for - very well done and easy to follow!!
Good hub man. Very informative. You should check some of mine out sometime. I'm gonna follow your hubs from now on. You can follow me on here, or on twitter @HaleSportsGuy
Thanks for answering Manthy. I always use the fluid that comes with it and will make sure I always do.
I have this little device that you put discs in to clean them after putting some cleaning fluid on them. But, I am wondering if in the long run it is doing more harm than good because it goes in a circular motion and not out from the center of the disc as you suggest.
Good hub. Very helpful. Thanks for the info.
Paper towel or toilet paper, correct? Not a soft cloth? Why "not" a soft cloth?
Hey.. that was helpful. I always clean the disc in circular motion...Man, that's why!
Practical. But I clicked useful cause practical wasn't an option. Now your readers can go check out my HUB and buy that Lion King Blu Ray disc with no worries. (Smile!)
Excellent hub. I was actually thinking about writing an article about how to properly clean discs.
