dipping smokeless tobacco may cause cancer and stains yor teeth
70
I know that smokeless tobacco is bad for you but I can't help myself
I am a addict.
I am addicted to snuff or dip (sometimes called smokeless tobacco)
I do not want to die from mouth cancer so I have decided that I am going to quit dipping.
I have tried before and failed, but I think I can do it this time.
Please keep me in your prayers because unless you have been an addict before you have no idea how hard it is to quit,I have physical withdrawls when I quit and the cravings are horrible, I guess I should have thought about that before I made myself sick starting dipping again 7 years ago after I had been tobacco free for 2 years.
I will not use tobacco of any form anymore.
A few reasons to quit dipping
- It is disgusting
- It is expensive
- Mouth Cancer looks like a bad way to die.
- I love my teeth
- My gum are receeding (I have gum disease)
- I want to enjoy my future grandchildren
- I want to improve my health
- I don't want to be a slave to tobacco addiction anymore
- I want to be a role model for my children.
- I'm a singer and it looks bad dipping
- I hate yellow teeth
- I can't afford tobacco anymore
I hope you all will keep me in your prayers as I battle this addiction, I have dipped everyday for the last 7 years, but I believe that if you truly want to quit that you can and I do want to quit so I have.
Smoking isn't cool and dipping tobacco isn't cool.
I want to be cool - I do not want to be an addict anymore.
I will succeed - I will overcome this addiction.
I mean it tells you right on the can that it may cause cancer, and that it is not a safe alternative to smoking so I am gonna take that warning serious.
I am done with tobacco - If I have a urge to dip I will
- Call a friend
- Do some work
- Take a walk
- Chew some gum
- Brush my teeth
- Pray
- Anything to get my mind over the craving.
- walk my dog
- write a hub
- pull my hair out
Thanks for reading the hub - please leave comments below and I will be updating this hub everytime I get the urge to dip,I will let you know what I did to get me through the craving etc.
I will keep you all posted

The best way to break a habit is to drop it. If a person has a bad habit they need to replace it with a good habit.
Now that you have my awesome advice you will do fine. lol. Seriously I wish you the best.
OMG, my teeth are getting jacked up from years of dipping as well. That picture really gets you thinking more so than the current damage. Thanks for this hub.
Dude! I promise you can do it! Believe it or not, I quit on July 3rd, and have also been going strong. I was a pack-a-dayer since I was 17. I use tea tree oil toothpicks when I'm driving, which is when my cravings go up. Also, I drink more caffeinated drinks. Caffeine is a pretty close stimulant to nicotine, so it's helped me greatly. I'm also lax with myself when it comes to food. Give yourself breaks on food and drink, because quitting the tobacco is all that needs focussing on at the moment. That's my piece, you got this man! Congrats on the so far...
Best, Matt
Way to go! Great hub.
One little tip. Focus on what you want, rather than on what you don't want. So instead of saying, "I am tobacco free" try saying, "I am free!"
And I thought I wrote horror stories! One up and useful, very useful! There should probably be an "inspirational" tag, or perhaps a "potentially life saving" one.
That is a scary scary feeling. I must say, interesting topic of fear. OUCH!

Find your inner strength and kick the habit of chewing tobacco. Everyone at hubpages is looking forward to your tobacco-free updates.
Good luck and never look back.

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body," (1 Cor. 6:19-20).
Good luck on your quest my friend.

Wow....powerful picture!!! Wishing you luck with ending your addiction. I'm a social smoker so I'd be a hypocrite if I offer advice but I can wish you LUCK :-))
Congrats for your decision, is very wise!
Good luck! I am close to you with my thought... I am an ex-addict too!
That's a rather disgusting photo you have as a lead which should be enough to help you to stop. Good luck!
I find using the "D" (aka Diet) word or the "Q" quit word makes my attempts at self improvements harder so I just eliminated them. People are like "Here goes, I'm smoking my last cigarette right here." That doesn't do them any good. When you enjoy smoking proclaiming that your using your last one forever puts more stress on yourself in my opinion. I also never mention such a thing to others because their nagging never helped! More stress means more desire for just one more cig. Maybe something here that I have said will help you in your battle. Maybe not. Either way Kudos to you, your desire to be healthier and your success. Success will come if you want them bad enough!!!! Always here if you need to talk it out or vent. Good job!!!!
Well Done for giving it up, I can only wish you good luck :)
Don't cave in!!
